Women's Summer Bible Study

Every Thursday until July 29, 2021

10:00am – 11:30am

Join us in-person at Young Meadows or by Zoom for our study of Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

Ladies, we hope you will join us this summer for Bible study, as we learn to see the Bible not as a collection of stories, but as one Grand Narrative or story. Every good story has a hero and we will learn to find our hero, Jesus, throughout the Old Testament. Each session of this study, we will take a passage from our Rooted reading and look at it from several different points of view. All we ask that you do to prepare is watch Jay's Monday School video https://vimeo.com/429491003. Then read over the chapter that we will be studying. We will meet every other week over Zoom and ask the following questions:

HOW DOES THE PASSAGE LEAD TO THE PERSON, WORK OR TEACHING OF JESUS CHRIS

1. History Teacher:  Find the passage’s place in the Grand Narrative of Creation-Fall-Redemption-Restoration.

2. English Teacher:  Find the redemptive themes in the passage.

3. Artist: Look for symbols: people, things, or events that prefigure Jesu#

4. Meteorologist:  Look for prophecies or promises that point to Christ.

5. Librarian:  Look for cross-references that help to explain the passage, especially OT/NT connections.

6. Bank Teller:  Compare and contrast this passage to other redemptive themes or ideas.

The Zoom link will be posted in Monday's announcements or you can contact Alex for the link. For more information, contact Alex Kocher at alex.kocher326@gmail.com or (334) 657-8767‬
