Rooftop Friends Disabilities Ministry

Rooftop Friends is a ministry of Young Meadows Church.  Rooftop Friends (RTF) serves families living with disabilities by providing respite times for caregivers in conjunction with activities and events for children with disabilities and their siblings.

RTF events are open to all families in the greater River Region Area, and our ability to minister to families is because of the generous supports we receive from the YMPC church family.

2021 has been a unique time for all of us, RTF has brought under our umbrella  Servants, Saints and Missionaries from Christ Church, Trinity Presbyterian Church & Frazer Church.  As we grow and reach out adding additional partner churches, we envision the scope of our ministry to grow in the River Region.

In January 2022 we will HOST a VISION Session for all groups and individuals interested in seeing RTF grow and minister to more families and individuals through a greater array of programs and supports.

 Joy for Giving-3

Joy of Giving 2022

Rooftop Friends cordially invites your children & young adults to participate in our “Joy of Giving Respite Event”. Each shopper will have an opportunity to choose a gift for his or her parents and for each sibling and other immediate family members.

This respite activity is designed to share the joy of giving with children and young adults who do not always have the opportunity to shop for others. Additionally, to provide primary caregivers a Saturday morning free during the Christmas Season.

Our Respite time will be on Saturday, December 3rd at 9 AM at Young Meadows Presbyterian Church located on Vaughn Road, Montgomery Alabama. Shoppers and their siblings should be dropped off between 9 and 9:30 AM and picked up at Noon. No early birds will be accommodated and aftercare is not available.

Activities will include selecting gifts for individual family members, wrapping the selected gifts, creating original gift tags to put on each package, coloring handmade Christmas cards, enjoying snacks, arts & crafts activities, singing Christmas carols and listening to the story of the Birth of Jesus.

Each shopper will be assigned a BUDDY for the morning to shepherd them through the activities and to share JOY and Fellowship with them.

Dress for this respite event includes Christmas-themed clothing, designs, and colors. All shoppers need to be pre-registered: complete, and return the application and permission slip to Rooftop Friends, on or before the November 21, 2022. Mail to: Rooftop Friends c/o Young Meadows 5780 Vaughn Road Montgomery, Al. 36116
