Rooftop Friends Disabilities Ministry
Luke 14:12-24 -- the parable of the Great Banquet -- tells us to "Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, and crippled and blind and lame"; and "Go out to the highways and the hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled."(vs. 21, 23)
Rooftop Friends provides respite care for children and adults with disabilities, giving their regular caregivers a time to rest, run errands, or just be away for a brief time.
Rooftop Friends volunteers also participate in Miracle League baseball in April and May by assisting those with disabilities to play ball! These volunteers play, encourage, and cheer these participants in a variety of ways.
Rooftop Friends has sponsored family retreats the past few years, and recently joined forced with the Hope Heals ministry of Katherine and Jay Wolf, to offer two summer camps for families with disabilities. These camps enlist more than 600 campers and volunteers for a week of outdoor activities, fellowship with one another, and spiritual renewal.
